What Bob Adams Can Do For You!

Bringing Clarity and Advocacy to the Assessor’s Office

My vision is simple: An Assessor’s Office that's open, friendly, and works for you. You deserve to know how property assessments are made, and it's crucial that these processes align with Utah state law. I see the Assessor’s office as a partner to the people of Wasatch County, not a roadblock.

Experience and Education:
A Foundation for Change

With a 40-year career in local government management, I've developed the skills necessary to make our Assessor's Office both efficient and approachable. My academic background, including a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology from UC Berkeley and a Master’s in Public Administration from BYU, reinforces my commitment to fair and just administration.

From Frustration to Action:
My Personal Encounter

A few years ago, I too experienced the confusion and frustration many of you have faced. A significant property tax increase led me to challenge the assessment. However, the process was opaque and unhelpful, leaving me and many others in the dark about how these crucial decisions are made.

Commitment to Transparency and Fairness

This experience isn't unique, and it's unacceptable. It’s time for transparency in property assessments. Everyone deserves to understand how their property values are determined and have a fair opportunity to address concerns. I've heard your stories and share your frustrations. It's time for a change.

A Change For Better

Over the past few years, in talking with friends and neighbors around Wasatch County, I have found that the assessment process is frustrating to many others, as well. It seems arbitrary and capricious. This unfairness needs to be addressed.

In addition, five years ago an embarrassing situation was reported in the press where a gross error was made that caused a severe impact on the budgets of county agencies and the school district.

My professional background is in City Management. My administration has always been open and transparent. As I said before, the Assessor needs to be an advocate for those who elect him, not an adversary. My goal is to bring everyone together to fix the issues that are before us so that the process can be accessible and understandable to the public and fair to all concerned.

I have experience as a Facilitator. Working with people of differing views to develop sound solutions has been a benchmark of my professional career. We may not always agree with an outcome, but we will all understand how the outcome was derived and how it impacts the common good.
